Qatar Luxury Hotels

Whether you're visiting Qatar or looking to enjoy a staycation, there is no shortage of Luxury Hotels to choose from. Here are our recommendations depending what sort of stay you're looking for.

Close to Souq Waqif

The newly opened Mandarin Oriental is located in the heart of the stunning Msheireb Downtown area and overlooks Barahat Msheireb town square. Best of all it's within walking distance to top attractions such as Souq Waqif, Museum of Islamic Art and the National Museum of Qatar. The Mandarin offers elegant rooms with luxurious furnishings and Italian marble bathrooms. Our favourite aspect of the hotel though is it's beautiful rooftop pool area and adjacent bar, Aqua.

Island Luxury

Great for families but also for a relaxing romantic weekend away, Banana Island Resort is a winner for everyone. Banana Island has mix of hotel style rooms or over water villas and a never ending list of activities such as surfing, diving, golf, bowling and it's own cinema. The island is located a 45 minute catamaran ride from the Corniche with departures every hour on the hour.

Classic 5-star Luxury

No one does traditional luxury quite like Four Seasons and their Doha hotel is no exception. Four Seasons’ trademark service is evident from your arrival through to your departure and you can expect to be greeted by name throughout the hotel. The rooms are large and plush with their furnishings and every one of them has a view of either the Persian Gulf or the stunning Doha skyline. If all of that wasn't enough, the famous. NOBU restaurant is located on site.

Arabian Luxury

A stay at the Marsa Malaz Kempinski will have you feeling like you're staying in a Qatari Palace. Located on a purpose built island, the Kempinski offers the perfect hideaway. The rooms are large and all feature a balcony or terrace which is great during the winter months. Onsite you will find a number of pools, a large spa facility and a 150m long private beach. It also boasts 7 restaurants and 4 bars, including one of my favourites in all of Doha, Toro Toro, a Spanish themed restaurant.

Health and Wellness

Qatar’s premier health and wellness resort, Al Messila, is located on 33 acres of mature forest in central Doha. The resort offers 152 rooms, suites and poolside villas, but it's main drawing point is it's 3 story,  14,000 square metre luxury spa. Offering 22 private treatment rooms along with a state-of-the-art fitness centre, one of the best indoor hotel pools I've ever seen and a number outdoor pools, Al Messila resort is the perfect place to unwind. The resort also has 8 restaurants onsite, but please note that it is a dry hotel and no achohol is served.
